Clark family recipe for Layered Salad.

Ingredients

  • Head of lettuce (cleaned, dried and cut in bite sized pieces
  • 1 - 1 1/2 Cup Mayonaise (depends on how juicy you want the salad!)
  • 1/3 Cup Sugar
  • 3 4 Tbs Balsamic Vinegar (or any other flavored vineragrette)
  • Green Onions
  • Bacon
  • Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • Frozen green peas (Optional... can't really tell if they're there or not!)

Instructions

  1. Layer a casserole pan with lettuce. Mix the mayo, sugar and
  2. vinegar together. Spread some over the lettuce. Sprinkle with
  3. crispy bacon (can you use bacon bits but freshly cooked bacon is
  4. better!), cut up green onions, cheese and peas. Do it all over again
  5. just like lasagna.

Notes

Make a couple of hours early, cover and put in refrigerator so the tastes can meld.
