Clark family recipe for Garlic Cheese Grits.

Ingredients

  • Grits (Not the quick ones)
  • Butter
  • Cheese
  • Cream Cheese
  • Aloette Garlic and Herb
  • Salt

Instructions

  1. Cook grits according to package. I use the microwave. Initially,
  2. cook for 3 minutes to get it hot. Take it out and stir every 1 minute
  3. or so until they're done. Cook them pretty done, adding water if
  4. they still taste grainy. Then, add salt to your taste, cheese to your
  5. taste, cream cheese to make them creamy and as many Alouette
  6. Garlic and Herb packages as you like (the more the richer!) Taste
  7. as you go and you'll know!
  8. Bake at 350° until firm and cheese is melted.

Notes

There's no set amount of anything. Just add, taste and add more of what you think it's missing. If I make a big pan of it, I'll add 1/2 package of cream cheese, a couple of Alouette's and enough cheese to make it cheesy without overpowering it.
