Clark family recipe for Cream Cheese Banana Nut Bread.
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 - 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 3 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups mashed bananas, 4 medium
- 1 cup chopped pecans, toasted
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Beat butter and cream cheese until creamy.
- Gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs 1 at a time.
- In a small bowl sift dry ingredients.
- Add slowly to above mixture.
- Stir in bananas and vanilla.
- Bake in greased and floured loaf pans
- Makes 2 loaves
- TOPPING:
- Prepare batter as directed and put in pans.
- Stir together 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar, 1/2 cup chopped
- nuts,1 TBS flour, 1 TBS melted butter and 1/8 tsp ground
- cinnamon. Sprinkle over batter and bake on 350° for 1 hour
