Clark family recipe for Cream Cheese Banana Nut Bread.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 - 8 oz. pkg. cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups mashed bananas, 4 medium
  • 1 cup chopped pecans, toasted
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla

Instructions

  1. Beat butter and cream cheese until creamy.
  2. Gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
  3. Add eggs 1 at a time.
  4. In a small bowl sift dry ingredients.
  5. Add slowly to above mixture.
  6. Stir in bananas and vanilla.
  7. Bake in greased and floured loaf pans
  8. Makes 2 loaves
  9. TOPPING:
  10. Prepare batter as directed and put in pans.
  11. Stir together 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar, 1/2 cup chopped
  12. nuts,1 TBS flour, 1 TBS melted butter and 1/8 tsp ground
  13. cinnamon. Sprinkle over batter and bake on 350° for 1 hour
