Clark family recipe for Boston Creme Pie/Cake.

Ingredients

  • Devils Food Cake mix mixed per instructions on box
  • Fudge Sauce ( see Lisa's in cookbook)
  • filling: 1 c sugar
  • filling: 2 eggs
  • filling: 3 TBS flour
  • filling: 2 c milk
  • filling: 1 tsp vanilla

Instructions

  1. Bake cake mix in two cake pans and cool.
  2. Make fudge sauce and set aside
  3. Assemble cake by putting one layer on bottom of cake plate.
  4. Pour pudding on top of that.
  5. Add the second layer on top.
  6. Serve with fudge sauce on top and a dollop of whip cream on top
  7. of that!
  8. FILLING:
  9. Mix sugar, flour and eggs and a little milk until smooth.
  10. Add remaining milk slowly until all incorporated.
  11. Cook on medium heat; stirring constantly until thick , like pudding.
  12. Take off heat and add vanilla and butter. Whisk until butter is melted.
